Day in Life of Mainframe Developers and Build/Deploy Engineers Using a Git Workflow
DescriptionJoin us for this hands-on lab to experience a mainframe developer's daily activities in a Git™ based workflow. Also you may choose the scenarios with build/deploy engineers and obtain insights into how quickly and easily you can configure your build and deployment environment. You’ll exploit various components of IBM Developer for z/OS® in VS Code to integrate with familiar DevOps tools to develop and deploy a z/OS application using a modern CI/CD pipeline. Available scenarios will showcase:
Use GitLab to view assigned tasks and access application source code stored in Git™
Code, debug, and build a sample COBOL application using Eclipse® or VS Code™
Commit and push modifications to Git™, then deploy the updated code using Wazi Deploy
Create a zBuilder build lifecycle for building traditional mainframe programs
Configure the deployment actions to install your application into a runtime environment
Onboard an application to your DevOps pipeline
