PSP: Behind the Scenes at IOF Development – Modernizing for a Browser Interface Without Sacrificing Performance or Security
DescriptionThe IOF team at Fischer International is developing a browser interface to IOF with the requirements of absolute security and a response time equal or better than the 3270 interface. The most challenging component of crafting a dedicated solution to meet these requirements is the implementation Transport Layer Security 1.3 (TLS 1.3), the encryption protocol used by modern browsers. We are going to give an overview of this protocol, and how to implement using z/OS Crypto services. We are also going to discuss the use of Web Sockets in order to achieve exceptional performance.
