PSP: Preparing for z17? Make Sure You Have Secure and Supported Connectivity to Your Storage (Local and Remote)
DescriptionIf you are considering a new z17, or already planning it's implementation, this session will help you identify what you need to support both your local FICON connectivity and your remote BC/DR connectivity for Disk and Tape.
We will also introduce the recently announced IBM b-type Gen 8 Storage Networking products plus dig deeper into the IBM Storage Extension solutions for IBM Global Mirror and TS7700 data replication.
- Overview of the IBM b-type Gen 8 SAN products and their fit with the Gen 7 products
- Review the current FICON Support matrix Gen 7 and Gen 8 products for z17 and zNext platforms
- Guidelines for refreshing existing BC/DR solutions with the IBM SAN42B-R7 (Brocade 7850) FC and IPEX solutions
