How to Not Buy the Wrong CPC/CEC and What if You Did?
DescriptionThere are serious cost and performance risks just buying capacity instead of buying the right CPC model for your workload. Customers have seen 10 - 25% reductions in MSUs for the same workload by having correct # of engines allocated to an LPAR. This has always been true but even more so for every model newer than the EC/BC 12 family. Moving from z1# to another model is much higher risk as the CPC speed is based on Chip cache hits and IBM keeps redesigning the cache. The question is how does this design complement your workload.
