Kirk Wettschreck is a Senior Technical Support Engineer with Broadcom’s Brocade Storage Networking organization, specializing in enterprise-scale Fibre Channel and FICON Storage Area Network architectures. He delivers migration engineering, technology refresh design, and remote implementation support for Gen 7/8 Brocade Fibre Channel switches, directors, and extension platforms, supporting one of Brocade’s largest global environments.

With continuous hands-on experience in SAN technologies since 1999, Kirk began his career in the Technical Assistance Center at Computer Network Technology, where he supported complex production fabrics and mission-critical workloads. Over more than 26 years, his work has spanned multi-vendor interoperability, large-scale fabric redesigns, non-disruptive migrations, ISL and trunking optimization, long-distance extension, and high-availability fabric architectures across both open systems and mainframe environments.

Kirk holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and is among fewer than 100 professionals worldwide to have completed the Brocade Distinguished Architect certification during the period it was offered.
