Biography
With over 35 years of mainframe experience I have covered a lot of area. I started in application development building applications in COBOL and Assembler, for years. Then moved to becoming a systems programmer for a short period of time. Went from working on operating systems such as MVS/SP, MVS/XA, MVS/ESA, OS/390, z/OS. Then was working on other operating systems such as VM/ESA, and z/VM, Linux on Z, Z/VSE. Worked with multiple groups of people helping them improve their application development environments to improve speed to market. I was on the for front of the Linux on Z movement. Then move on to now modernizing the mainframe what I help companies bring their mainframe applications forward to integrate with more modern UI’s. Working with Zowe, VS Code, Extensions to make an application developer more productive. I sit on multiple committees that guide the direction of conferences and workshops. I work the mainframe conferences where I work with companies as well as deliver sessions. I have hosted workshops on modernization. Plus mentoring the next generation of mainframe developers.
